I've been looking at some sounds charts in back issues of After Touch, and have a question.  Can someone please tell me what the AMS which is next to the detune box stands for, and what number is it?  Thanks very much!

I don't own a DX7 myself but according to the manual (original DX7,
haven't checked the DX7II manual) it's button 16 for AMS (=Amplitude
Modulation Sensitivity) and button 15 for PMS (=Pitch Modulation
Sensitivity)

"This adjusts the sensitivity (depth) of pitch and amplitude modulation.
This parameter must be greater than 0 before any amplitude or pitch
modulation can be applied"

"Amplitude modulation is set indepently for each operator" (PMD isn't)

Great!  Thank you all for your prompt replies!  I love playing with this thing.  Life changing events has now given me time to explore, even though I've owned is going on 20 years.....
