Hi,

I have prepared a new download location on my website

http://vopm.martintarenskeen.nl

Here you can download:

1) VOPM-B:
This is my patched version of VOPM.
For those of you who don't know: VOPM is a VST instrument emulating a
Yamaha YM2151 4-OP FM synth chip. I only provide a Windows 32bit binary.

Take a look at http://www.geocities.jp/sam_kb/VOPM/ for more info.

But the original has one obvious bug: it plays everything one octave too
high! My patched version fixes this bug.

2) fb2opm:
A python script to convert Yamaha FB01 patches to *.opm files that can be
loaded in VOPM using the "import" button. But don't sell your FB01 just
yet. My VOPM conversions can't compete with the original FB01 sound!

have fun!

Thank you for very good job, I use your VOPM , it sounds very good to me. One question - it is not multitimbral , right ?

My job was very modest. I did not write VOPM. All the credits go a
Japanese guy who calls himself Sam (see the link in my original posting).

I wrote him about that pitch bug some time ago. He answered that he no
longer supported VOPM, but he did give me instructions how I could fix the
bug. So also the credits for the patch go to Sam.

The only thing I did was re-building VOPM with the modified source code.

FB2OPM wás written by me.

No, but on todays fast computers with plenty of RAM it should not be a
problem to run several instances of VOPM simultaneously I guess.
VOPM is not a heavy weight application.

Hi, does this FM emulator support MIDI too?
VOPM is a VST plugin, built for Windows.

Strange question. Sounds to me like "does your MIDI interface support
MIDI?", "does your Soundcard support Sound?", or "does your VST host
support VST plugins?"

Maybe I don't understand your question?

Another answer:

Maybe you mean: can the parameters be controlled by MIDI SysEx and/or CC
messages?

An interesting feature of VOPM is that a selection of parameters can be
controlled by CC message. You can find a list of them in the VOPM manual.
I have included VOPM.pdf in my distribution.

It comes from here: http://www.gorenfeld.net/lou/VOPM.pdf

Sorry for my question that must sound stupid :) i was sleepy (4.31 am) and i didn'think that is a windows VST instrument then must have midi functionality following with its's midi implementation. I confused that with a similar IOS app standone for ipad or iphone that is not real time midi compatible but can play midifiles only.
Thank for your answer and have a good day!
